Do you want to help the environment and reduce your carbon footprint? Well why not try some or all of these handy dandy suggestions:
-Write or lobby your government to take more drastic action against climate change
-Take public transit more often or ride a bicycle
-Don’t buy bottled water. Instead buy reusable eco-friendly water bottles. Like SIGG.
-Recycle and invest in a composter
-Use green cleaning products
-Turn off your lights and computer when not in use and buy compact fluorescent light bulbs
-Wash clothes in cold water and hang dry when possible
-Fill up your dish washer prior to turning it on
-Don’t leave your lawn sprinklers on all day. Give your lawn a good dowse and then shut the hose off!
-Buy cloth diapers
-Donate to WWF, Sierra Club, World Land Trust, Greenpeace and any other environmental group
-Spay/neuter your pets
-Don’t take super long hot showers (They’re bad for your skin anyway!)
-If you eat seafood, don’t buy farmed salmon. Blue fin tuna is also on the decline so you may want to cut back.
-Support local farmers
-Buy energy star appliances
-Switch to paperless bills and ask your work’s compensation department about paperless direct deposit for your pay.
-Buy recycled countertops. According to the Metro, these countertops are ‘durable, versatile, clean and attractive’. For more info, go to www.leezadistribution.com

Hi. I need to do a better job of talking about it, but I’ve got this section on my blog devoted to simpler things that can make really big differences: ajerseykid.com/find-100-ways
I’d be so grateful if you’d be willing to share one of these ideas there. Let me know if you’re interested.
